Dr Julia Lloyd BSc MB ChB DRCOG DFFP (Birmingham 1990) - Partner

Dr Lloyd has worked in General Medical practice since 1994 and has specialist knowledge in women's health. She is our Lead GP for sexual health, family planning,
learning disabilities and weight management, liaising closely with our practice nursing team on these issues. Dr Lloyd also represents the practice at the Evesham, Bredon, Broadway and Inkberrow GP Locality meetings and works closely with South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group on projects such as Medicines Optimisation and Care home Alignment.

Dr Scott Perkins BSc MB ChB MRCS MRCGP (Manchester 1997) - Partner

Dr Perkins has worked in General practice since 2008 and commenced his medical career as a orthopaedic surgeon in a large Manchester hospital.  He has specialist knowledge and skills in musculo-skeletal medicine and minor surgery. He is our Lead GP for respiratory and musculo-skeletal medicine and is also Joint Lead GP for palliative care with Dr Julia Lloyd. 

Dr Elizabeth Forman  MB ChB MRCGP DCH (Sheffield 2007) - Partner

Dr Forman has worked at Abbey Medical Practice since 2015 she was a salaried GP until 2019 when she became a Partner here. Dr Forman has a special interest in Paediatrics and is the Practice’s lead GP for Safeguarding Children.

Dr Sarah Griffiths MBBS MRCGP (London 1998) - Salaried GP

Dr Griffiths started here as a locum doctor, but she is now a salaried GP and now works on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week. Dr Griffiths has a special interest in respiratory medicine Women's Health and Family Planning.

Dr Gareth Kelly MBChB BMed Sci (Hons), MRCGP, DFSRH - Salaried GP

Dr Kelly joined the Practice in 2019 as a Locum Doctor and became a Salaried GP at the Practice in March 2020.

Dr Anna Manning MBBS, BSc Hons, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFSRH - Salaried GP

Dr Manning joined the Practice in March 2020. Dr Manning previously worked as a GP in Hampshire and Surrey.

Dr Martin Guichard-Wheatley, MBCHB, MRCGP -Salaried GP

Dr Wheatley joined the practice in September 2021, He completed his medical and GP training in Leicester and is pursuing an interest in ear, nose & throat issues.

Nurses

Our Practice Nursing team is led by Gill Pugh (Nurse Manager).

Our experienced team work closely with our GPs and other members of the Practice team to deliver a comprehensive and caring service to our patients.  Whilst they each have individual specialities, they are all involved in Chronic Disease Clinics and are available to offer help and advice on a wide range of health topics including minor ailments and injuries, wound and leg ulcer care, children’s immunisations, travel health and vaccinations, contraception and   sexual health, ear irrigation and health promotion.

In addition, our trained and experienced Healthcare Assistants are available for blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, ECG tracings, simple dressings and NHS Health Checks.  They also assist with minor surgery, administer flu and vitamin B12 injections and offer appointments for coronary vascular disease screening and assessment.

Business Manager

Richard Allen has over 35 years of NHS experience and is responsible for the overall running of the practice business and finances He is also the practice Caldicott Guardian for Information Governance and Confidentiality. Richard is the practice lead for information governance, complaints and incident reporting.

Deputy Practice Manager

Nicky Woodward has taken on the role of Deputy Practice Manager from March 2020, and is the Practice lead for Health and Safety. She supports our Business Manager in the day to day running of the practice.

Administration Manager

Amanda has been with the practice since 2007 and originally started as a Receptionist before moving up to Administration Manager and now manages the Administration Team.

Administration Officer

Anne joined us in September 2016.  One of Anne's main responsibilities is the summary of patient records which she does alongside other admin duties.             

Information & IT Officer

Leon started with us in January 2022, He has a background of IT, Business & Operations, He previously worked for a Mental Health Charity.

Medical Secretary

Mary started with us in January 2022, She has been working with the NHS for 18 years and has a Medical Secretary background.

Sam Cole leads our team of friendly receptionist's who are keen to ensure patients receive a prompt and efficient service. In addition to arranging appointments and home visits, they can give out results of test and investigation after consultation with the appropriate GP. They also play a pivotal role in the day to day administration of the practice.

The reception team is lead by Sam Cole with Becky Williams working closely with her to manage the team:

Our practice Pharmacist is Mr Waqas Ahmed. He is a key part of our multi-disciplinary clinical team. He works closely with our GPs and other clinicians to ensure high quality prescribing services for our patients. Waqas has completed further training to become an independent prescriber and an advanced clinical practitioner.

His work in the practice includes:

• Undertaking medication reviews for patients receiving long-term medicines to ensure they are effective, appropriate and safe.
• Reconciling medication following patients discharge from hospital or consultations with specialists.
• Advising patients on medication queries.
• Helping patients to manage long-term conditions.
• Giving clinical advice about medications and treatments.
• Triaging and managing common illnesses.
• Carrying out audits and reviews to monitor medication use to help drive quality improvements in prescribing.

Health Visitors

Our Health Visitors provides services to families with young children up to the age of 5 years. They hold regular drop in clinics within Evesham.

District Nurses

Our District Nurses are based in the Medical Centre and work closely with our GPs to provide nursing services to our housebound patients. 

Community Midwifery Team

A team of community midwives work closely with our GPs to provide antenatal services to our patients.  The practice midwife is Louise who holds a clinic on Mondays and can be contacted on 01386 502323.

We have NHS Counsellors and signposting services available with referrals being made via a GP in the first instance.

Our dispensers are able to take requests for repeat prescriptions over the counter, via our online system or over the phone between 10.00-12.00 and 3.00-4.00. They can also dispense medicines to patients who live outside Evesham town centre and more than 1 mile from their nearest pharmacy. Any local requests can be sent electronically to a Pharmacy of the patient’s choice.

They can help with any queries patients may have in respect of their medication or refer them to the Surgery Pharmacist.

They also have a free delivery service for our dispensing patients who find it impossible to collect their medication from the practice.  Please inform the dispensary staff if you would like to sign up for this service.
